Text expander

Turn the phrases you retype daily into two-character shortcuts.

Create a snippet

  1. Open Settings → Snippets and click ＋.
  2. Give it content (multi-line text, rich text, even inline images) and an abbreviation — something short you’d never type by accident, like ;sig or ;addr.
  3. Done. Type the abbreviation in any app and it expands the moment you finish it.

Expansion is instant and native: no text flashes, no clipboard flicker, no ⌘V simulation visible to you. Your existing clipboard is preserved.

Fill-in fields

For the parts that change every time — a name, a date — add a field to your snippet. When you trigger it, Pocket Paste shows a small popup asking just for those values, then pastes the completed text.

Organize with folders and tags

  • Group snippets into folders, and add up to 4 tags per snippet.
  • Search by tag with #tagname, or click a tag to filter.
  • Disable a whole folder to switch contexts (e.g. turn off work snippets at home) — the snippets stay, only expansion pauses.

Using snippets from the popup

Your snippets also live in the Snippets tab of the clipboard popup — same search, same quick-paste shortcuts — so rarely-used snippets don’t need memorable abbreviations at all.

Tips

  • Prefix abbreviations with a symbol (;, /, ,,) to avoid accidental triggers.
  • Multi-line snippets paste as a single atomic block — safe in chat apps.
  • Snippet usage counts are shown in the manager so you can prune what you never use.
