What Pocket Paste stores, what it skips, and why you can trust it.

The short version

Everything stays on your Mac. Pocket Paste has no account system, no analytics SDK, no cloud storage, and works fully offline.

What is stored — and where

Clipboard history and snippets are stored locally in your user Library folder, readable only by your macOS user account. You control the history size (10–100 items), and you can clear any item — or everything — at any time.

What is never recorded

• Secure input fields. When macOS marks input as secure (password boxes, Touch ID prompts), Pocket Paste detects it and records nothing.
• Password managers. Copies coming from known password managers (1Password, Apple Passwords/Keychain, and others) are skipped automatically.
• Excluded apps. Any app you add to the exclusion list in Settings.

What never leaves your device

• Your clipboard contents and snippets — there is no sync server.
• Diagnostics: logs contain only metadata (item type, size), never clipboard content.

The one network call

License activation (when you buy) validates your key against our licensing provider and registers a device identifier. That request contains your license key and a machine identifier — never any clipboard data. The app is otherwise silent on the network.
