Guide 05Pins, bookmarks and folders
Give frequently used content a place you can find again.
Choose the right kind of organisation
Pinning keeps useful clips prominent. Bookmarks mark content for the Important area. Folders help divide that important content into useful groups. These tools make retrieval easier; backups provide recovery.
Pin a clip
- Find the item in History.
- Open its context menu or preview actions.
- Choose the pin action.
- Return to your history and check the pinned state.
Use the same action to unpin when the item is no longer a regular part of your work.
Bookmark an item
- Open the clip’s preview or context menu.
- Choose Bookmark.
- Switch to the Important tab to find marked content.
- Use the available folder controls to organise items by project or purpose.
If folders are hidden, check Settings → Appearance → Show folders in Important. Labels can differ with the app language.
Rename for retrieval
Use the item’s rename action when a descriptive title will be easier to remember than the original content. Prefer a title such as Studio project brief over Untitled. A descriptive name is especially useful for images and files.
Work with multiple items
Use the popup’s selection controls to select the intended set before copying, moving, dragging or deleting. Review the selected item count. Multi-item behaviour depends on the destination app and the kinds of content in the selection.
Try a two-item selection in a test document first when you are unfamiliar with the destination.
A practical starting structure
- Current project: links, useful notes and reference images.
- Reference: instructions you return to occasionally.
- Snippets: messages and templates you want to insert repeatedly.
Keep reusable writing in the snippet manager, where it can have an abbreviation and dynamic fields.
If something seems missing
Check History, Important, the active folder and any search/filter tokens. A hidden folder setting can change what is visible without deleting its contents. If you deleted an item, inspect Clipboard History Trash before making further changes.
