How license keys, device limits, and unbinding work.
How licensing works
Pocket Paste is a one-time purchase. After checkout, your license key arrives by email. Each license activates on a fixed number of Macs:

Activate
- Open Pocket Paste → Settings → License.
- Paste your key and click Activate.
Activation registers this Mac against your license. If the license is already at its device limit, activation fails with a clear message — free up a slot first (below).
Move to a new Mac
You can manage devices yourself, no support ticket needed:
- From the app: Settings → License → Deactivate this Mac.
- From the web: use License Tools — enter your key, see your activated devices, and unbind the one you no longer use.
Once a slot is free, activate the new Mac normally.
Lost your key?
Enter your purchase email on the License Tools page and we’ll resend it. If you no longer control that email address, contact support and we’ll verify your purchase another way.
Fair-use notes
- A “device” is one macOS user environment on one Mac.
- Reinstalling macOS or the app on the same Mac does not consume an extra slot — if it ever does due to a hardware change, just unbind the stale entry.
- Licenses are for a single person (or household on the same devices); teams should buy one license per user.
